    the first 2 weeks of filming "The
    Wizard of Oz" on the cornfield
    set! Notice the blonde wig,
    alternate dress (it was solid blue
    with polka dot trim), and ruby
    slippers without the bows A
    This footage would be scrapped
    and re-shot a few weeks later
    after director Richard Thorpe
    was fired and creative changes
    made. Amazing what turns up
    nearly 85 years after filming
